Meet the Team
Drs. Chandela and Wind use a team-based, multidisciplinary approach to providing the best neurosurgical care to patients. This involves a top-notch neurosurgical team of the surgeons, physician assistants, and hospital staff. It also includes interfacing with other disciplines depending on your condition. This can range from physical therapists and pain management physicians to oncologists or radiation specialists. We work to coordinate and direct the team in order to provide the best possible care and outcomes

Dr. Sidhartha Chandela is a board certified and fellowship-trained minimally invasive neurosurgeon. His practice and interests involve using the latest spinal navigation technology to perform minimally-invasive and complex spine surgery to treat spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, myelopathy, and neck and back pain. He also performs general neurosurgery, utilizing the latest stereotactic imaging technology to treat brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, Chiari malformations, trauma and hydrocephalus.
Dr. Chandela is one of few unique dual-trained neurosurgeons nationwide who utilizes both endovascular and open neurosurgical techniques to treat cerebrovascular disorders such as brain aneurysms, AVM and brain bleeds. He was the first neurosurgeon in Northern Virginia to offer both microsurgical and endovascular treatment options for cerebrovascular disease. He has vast experience using emerging technology to treat stroke and remove blockages from brain arteries via thrombectomy and restoring blood flow through brain bypass surgery for Moyamoya disease.

Dr. Joshua Wind is a board certified neurological surgeon. He has clinical expertise and special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, motion-preserving spine surgery (such as disk replacement), endoscopic pituitary tumor surgery, as well as surgical and nonsurgical treatments for brain and spine tumors, spine disorders, and neck problems.
Dr. Wind strives to always place the patient first and to seek out the most conservative and least invasive options for each individual patient. Using conservative care and minimally invasive techniques, he seeks out options that have the best chance of achieving individual patient goals while minimizing the negative impacts from traditional open surgeries. This results in shorter hospital stays, faster recoveries and patients getting back to their lives sooner.
Dr. Wind has presented research in regional and national meetings and has over 30 peer-reviewed publications. He has been a principal investigator in several multicenter clinical trials regarding spine surgery including as a site of the recently FDA-approved TOPS procedure as a motion-preserving alternative to spinal fusion.
